The Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages of this race involving Royal Canford, ridden by N.M
Crosse, Commodus, ridden by S.M. Crosse, Fine Fettle, ridden by D.P. McDonogh, and Cuban Surfer, ridden by K.J. Manning, where it appeared that Commodus and Royal Canford ran short of room and checked. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Evidence was heard from S.M. Crosse in the presence of Mr. P. O' Brien. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that K.J. Manning was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his previous record in this regard suspended him for 1 raceday
N.M. Crosse, rider of Royal Canford trained by W. McCreery, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount got no luck in running
S.M. Crosse, rider of Commodus trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount received interference 1 furlong out
R.P. Cleary, rider of Macken trained by Brendan W.Duke, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was hampered in the first furlong.
