The Stewards interviewed Gordon Elliott, trainer, concerning the failure to nominate a rider before the designated time for From Frost (GB). Evidence was heard from the trainer who stated that he originally tried to nominate Katie Young but there was a problem with her U.K. licence, which had lapsed. He did not nominate another rider at the time because he hoped that the problem could have been rectified by today. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards accepted the explanation offered and allowed the request to nominate Mr.P.A.King. Mr M. Fahey, rider of Kabjoy, trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount reared leaving the stalls and was unseated. The Stewards interviewed Miss K. Harrington, rider of Modem (GB), concerning her use of the whip in this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.4, in that she used the whip without giving her mount time to respond and having considered her record, suspended her for ten race days.
