Callum Shepherd, the rider of Scarborough Castle (GB), placed second, was suspended for 4 days for using his whip above the permitted level from inside the final furlong and in the incorrect place on the run to the line.
Joanna Mason reported that Selecto (GB), unplaced, was unsuited by going forward and making the running from a wide draw in stall 9 on this occasion; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding, during routine testing, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
On 28/01/2022 Stella Barclay reported that Selecto (GB) was found to have a ligament injury following the race.
