Lisrenny Lady starts favourite backers off well
I was worried about running her back so soon after Killarney last week. I was also worried about going right-handed as all her best form is on left-handed tracks. Left-handed tracks are essential for her. She hung badly and won despite that. She should go for a holiday now. I'm tempted to give her a fortnight in a field and bring her back for Bellewstown.
Son Of My Heart gives Ross quickfire double
We came here with two horses with chances, hoping for the best. Miraculously it came off. They are two reasonable horses with form enough to win here if it went right. Thank God it went right. I'd like to thank the two owners [Gary Molloy and James J Reilly]. They are loyal decent people. Son Of My Heart will be kept going. I'll look at Bellewstown type meetings. He needs an ease in the ground and wouldn't run on hard ground.
Highdownhill lands 25/1 surprise
That's great. He has been a very disappointing horse. They went too quick and they all stopped in front and he kept galloping. This is a lucky spot for me.
Make My Night collars front-runner Madame Mado
She's a genuine little mare but no superstar. That's a nice pot to get. We could go to Listowel or somewhere for a three mile race as she just stays. We were lucky to get a drop of rain. I think it suited her and slowed the others down.
Shady Pines foils the gambles
I was very concerned about the ground but she handled it no bother. She got daylight today whereas the last day she didn't and that cost her the race. I might run her in a couple of flat races as she has the speed for one mile six furlongs.
Tin Town Boy gives Slippers a double
Slippers was very good on him. The ground was probably too soft for him but he held on to him. He's a nice horse and he's been a good old servant. It is nice for the owner Leo McCormack from Athboy in Co Meath. It is his first winner. He'll go back on the flat if he gets an ease in the ground.
