Lisrenny Lady quickened up in good style in the last 150 yards in the hands of Robbie Colgan to land Sligo's opening mares two mile two furlong maiden for trainer Cecil Ross at odds of 15/8.
Relishing the soft ground conditions underfoot the seven-year-old mare shed her maiden tag by four-and-a-half lengths from morning gamble Some Say who was punted from 16s to 11/2 off course, but was returned at 10/1, and stayed on late for second place.
Winning trainer Ross said: "I was worried about running her back so soon after Killarney last week. I was also worried about going right-handed as all her best form is on left-handed tracks."
"Left-handed tracks are essential for her. She hung badly and won despite that. She should go for a holiday now.
"I'm tempted to give her a fortnight in a field and bring her back for Bellewstown." Killtilane Rose who was supported from 11/2 to 4/1 on course completed the placings in third.
