Permission was given for Canagat (GB) to be mounted in the chute and to be led to post early and for One Last Dance (IRE) to wear a hood in the parade ring only, to be mounted in the chute and to go early to post.
Upon leaving the stalls, First Lott (GB) , placed second, jumped awkwardly and shifted right-handed, hampering Forbearing (IRE), unplaced, which in turn bumped Bearwith (GB), placed third, causing that gelding to become unbalanced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of First Lott (GB).
An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly after the start involving First Lott (GB), placed second, ridden by Hollie Doyle, Bearwith (GB), placed third, ridden by Luke Morris and One Last Dance (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by George Rooke.
Rooke was cautioned for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to edge slightly left-handed when insufficiently clear of Bearwith (GB), causing Morris to be tightened for room and carried off his intended line.
It was found the incident had been compounded by a free- running First Lott (GB) shifting right-handed and bumping Bearwith (GB), resulting in the gelding taking a false step and stumbling.
