Prior to this race, Jacqueline Coward was asked to explain the reason why she was running Eden Collonges (FR) here at Market Rasen on going described as Good, having reported that the gelding was unsuited by the Good going, which in her opinion, was riding softer in the back straight at Wetherby on 1 April 2021.
The Stewards noted Coward’s explanation that, in her opinion, the ground at Wetherby was riding softer than described and having walked the course here today felt it would be better suited to Eden Collonges (FR) on this occasion.
Following the race, Jack Quinlan reported that Beauvallon Bay (IRE), which started co-favourite and finished seventh, was never travelling.
