The winner, Lawn Ranger (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Kempton on 15 March 2023, where the gelding finished eleventh of twelve runners, beaten by 11 ¾ lengths.
Michael Attwater explained that Lawn Ranger (GB) had benefited from a return to turf and had further appreciated the Soft, Heavy in places going on this occasion.
His explanation was noted.
The performance of Beautiful Crown (GB) which started favourite finished unplaced, was considered.
Brett Johnson’s explained that in his opinion, the gelding was unsuited by the Soft, Heavy in places going on this occasion and would prefer a quicker surface.
Beautiful Crown (GB) was routine tested.
