An enquiry was held to consider an incident approximately a furlong after the start when Bentley Air (GB), unplaced, appeared to become unbalanced for a number of strides.
Benoit de la Sayette, the rider of Lift Lady (IRE), unplaced and David Probert, the rider of Bentley Air (GB), unplaced, were interviewed and shown recordings of the incident.
The interference was found to be accidental as it was determined that Bentley Air (GB) had initially appeared to become severely unbalanced on its own accord, before losing its action behind.
This resulted in Lift Lady (IRE) having to be checked by its rider and to shift sharply right- handed off heels.
Having initially been unable to determine what caused Bentley Air (GB) to lose its action behind due to inconclusive camera coverage, the Veterinary Officer reported that Bentley Air (GB) had struck into itself on its left-fore.
Shortly after and as a further result of this incident, Bentley Air (GB), unplaced, shifted sharply right-handed when continuing to race awkwardly, taking Lift Lady (IRE), unplaced, off its intended racing line, placing the filly into the centre of the track and without cover for a short period, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Liam Keniry reported that Funalltheway (IRE), unplaced, ran too freely.
