Permission was given for Fools Rush In (IRE) to go early to post; for Timetobenice (GB) and Tribal Wisdom (IRE) to both wear a red hood to post and for Ellexis (IRE) to be mounted in the chute and go early to post, wearing a red hood.
An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly after the start, involving Ellexis (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Mason Paetel, CHARLIE’S CHOICE, placed second, ridden by Taryn Langley, Flatley (GB), unplaced, ridden by Millie Wonnacott and Vecchio (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Elle-May Croot.
Being 7lb claiming apprentices, both Langley and Paetel were offered accompaniment.
Langley declined and Paetel was accompanied by a senior rider.
Paetel was suspended for 5 days for careless riding, as he moved his mount left-handed when insufficiently clear of CHARLIE’S CHOICE, carrying that runner off its intended line and onto Flatley (GB), which was crowded for room and resulted in Croot having to take a significant check on Vecchio (IRE) against the rail, when running out of racing room.
Approaching the winning post on the first circuit, a free running Ellexis (IRE), unplaced, shifted left- handed to avoid the heels of Polling Day (IRE), placed third, causing CHARLIE’S CHOICE, placed second, to be tightened for room on the rail, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider interference on the home bend, involving Visibility (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Mikkel Mortensen and Timetobenice (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Morgan Cole.
Mortensen was suspended for 2 days for careless riding, as he moved his mount out right-handed from behind the leader Fools Rush In (IRE), when insufficiently clear of Timetobenice (GB) which was bumped and carried off its intended line, before becoming tight for room when forced close to the heels of the winner Up The Jazz (IRE).
An enquiry was held to consider two incidents of interference inside the final furlong, involving Ellexis (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Mason Paetel, Timetobenice (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Morgan Cole, Visibility (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Mikkel Mortensen, Fools Rush In (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Ethan Jones and CHARLIE’S CHOICE, placed second, ridden by Taryn Langley.
Being 7lb claiming apprentices Paetel and Langley were offered accompaniment but both declined.
In the first incident, Langley was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as she allowed her mount to drift left-handed towards the rail without sufficient correction, tightening up Ellexis (IRE) over a number of strides which forced Paetel to ultimately take a check.
In the second incident, Jones was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as having initially corrected his mount from drifting left-handed, he then rode his mount right-handed for a number of strides before giving Timetobenice (GB) a hefty bump and also causing Visibility (IRE) to be hampered.
