An enquiry was held to consider the unruly behaviour of Pour La Victoire (IRE) which had been reluctant to go to post and had to be led to the start, causing a delay.
Tony Carroll was interviewed and shown recordings of the incident.
As the gelding had also been unruly and reluctant to go to the start at Brighton on 22 August 2018, Carroll was informed that any future similar behaviour may result in Pour La Victoire (IRE) being reported to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority.
Ryan Tate, the rider of Michaels Choice (GB), which finished sixth, beaten a head for fifth, had appeared to stop riding shortly before the winning post.
After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, Tate was suspended for 1 day for failing to take all reasonable and permissible measures to obtain the best possible placing on a horse that could have finished fifth.
Following the race, Eoin Walsh reported that Upavon (GB), unplaced, was denied a clear run inside the final furlong, and the Veterinary Officer reported that Gold At Midnight (GB), placed fifth, had lost its right-fore shoe.
