An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the first bend when the winner My Brother Mike (IRE), ridden by Jimmy Quinn, interfered with Uncle Swayze (GB), unplaced, ridden by Richard Kingscote.
Quinn was cautioned for careless riding as he edged left-handed when insufficiently clear of Uncle Swayze (GB), causing Kingscote to have to take a check.
The Stewards wished to hold an enquiry into interference rounding the first bend but were unable to do so as William Carson had left the course.
They adjourned their enquiry to a date to be notified to the riders.
The Clerk of the Scales objected to Celtic Artisan (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Oliver Stammers on the grounds of the rider failing to weigh in.
Celtic Artisan (IRE) was disqualified and the placings were revised as follows: Fourth – Notion Of Time (USA).
After being interviewed, the rider was suspended for 3 days and was not entitled to a riding fee.
Being a 7Ib Claiming Apprentice, Stammers was offered the opportunity to be accompanied in the enquiry but declined.
Following the race, Daniel Muscutt reported that Costello (GB), which started second-favourite and finished second, hung right-handed from the 3-furlong marker.
