The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident inside the final furlong involving Beckman, ridden by C.T
Keane, placed fourth, Comanche Brave, ridden by G.M. Ryan, placed second, and Va Va Vroom, ridden by S
Foley, placed fifth, where it appeared Beckman and Va Va Vroom had to take back. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. S. Foley stated that he just sat up to check off heels as he anticipated the incident happening. C.T
Keane stated that Comanche Brave quickened up better than him and he had to take a a precautionary check. G.M
Ryan stated that his mount switches leads as he got up to the gate and he thought he was gone by Va Va Vroom
Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found G.M. Ryan was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard (second offence) the Raceday Stewards suspended him for four racedays
N.M. Crosse, rider of Actin Like A Diva, trained by John C. McConnell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got upset in the stalls
S. Foley, rider of Va Va Vroom, trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got a little bit tight for room at the furlong pole
