Permission was given for NIKKI’S GIRL (IRE) to be mounted in the chute and to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 2 furlongs from the line, involving Pearly Star (GB), unplaced, ridden by Pierre-Louis Jamin; PERFECT GENTELMAN (IRE), placed third, ridden by Benoit de la Sayette and Weloof (FR), placed second, ridden by Connor Beasley.
The interference was found to be accidental as Perfect Gentleman (IRE) shifted marginally right-handed, at the same as Weloof (FR), shifted marginally left-handed, which caused Jamin, on a weakening Pearly Star (GB), to have to take a precautionary check.
Approximately 1 furlong from the line, Rollz Royz (GB), placed fourth, lugged quickly right-handed taking Weloof (FR), placed second, slightly off its intended line, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence.
The winner, NIKKI’S GIRL (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Newmarket on 21 July 2023, where the filly finished seventh of nine runners, beaten 13½ lengths.
Ed Dunlop’s representative’s explanation that the filly appreciated the return to an all-weather surface, on this occasion, was noted.
NIKKI’S GIRL (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, Alex Jary reported that Strangerontheshore (GB), unplaced, jumped right-handed.
Stefano Cherchi reported that Rollz Royz (GB), placed fourth, hung right-handed.
