An enquiry was held following a report from the Veterinary Officer that a representative of Milton Harris had presented the incorrect horse at the racecourse stables for identification in place of Aussie Moon (GB), which was declared to run in the 5.
25pm race.
They interviewed the Veterinary Officer, an Equine Welfare and Integrity Officer and Harris’ representative.
Having heard their evidence, the matter was referred to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority and Aussie Moon (GB) was withdrawn.
The Veterinary Officer further confirmed that blood samples would be taken from the incorrect horse to establish its identity.
