Ickworth proves McCreery's thinking to be spot on
When she came into me I said 'we'll have to go early with this one' due to her size,.
Stamina required even in a sprint as Paradise prevails
She broke her maiden over seven here but when we brought her back here over seven I just said to Mark 'she doesn't stay does she' and he said 'no',. I thought it might be a bit sharp today but she's done well. She stayed at it and when it became more of a stamina test she had the fortitude to go through with it. When we get nicer ground during the summer she'll go on to the turf and we'll see how far she can go. She's won twice now and you can't ask much more of her. We'll see what the handicapper does and take her as far as she can go. Hopefully she can spend the rest of the year moving up through the handicap and we can have a bit of fun. I'd say her trip is six. That's an easy five but they went very hard early on and played to her bit of stamina.
No problem for Sheisdiesel as she makes it 4-in-a-row
National Guard gets it done at the 10th time of asking
I don't think it was the trip that made the difference I think it was just getting the race run to suit him,. It worked today, I was tight between horses the whole way. Even the gap I had to go for was a little bit tight and it just suited him as it kept him interested. You can see when he gets to the front he runs around a bit. As I said I think trip is secondary to him he more needs a race that suits him. I don't think it was fitness that got him through today either, I think it was just things went well for him today. Things went very smooth today.
McCann sees good future for Dundalk winner Mutadaawel
He did it well, he's still very green and immature,. On his first run he missed the break. Oisin said that it took him a long time to get him pulled up there. He was only getting going and when he hit top gear he did it well. I was very happy with him. He was a cheap horse that I bought for the Shahs and it's great. I knew he had improved and the horses are in good form so hopefully we can keep them at it. We'll see what mark he gets now. I don't think I've had a horse as good as him at this early stage before. The lads love him at home and we'll have to see where we go now. He's a nice horse and we'll look after him. I could even step him back to seven as although it looks like he was staying on, when the penny really drops with him he has plenty of speed.
Plenty take a chance and Jimmy delivers
Double up for Keane on Black Label
He's a bit of a monkey but I said if he came down here and put his best foot forward tonight he was capable of winning,. He won a maiden down here a few years ago for me. He's going to mix it over hurdles and fences during the summer. We'll probably target the north of England with him during the summer months. He won around Limerick last year and on that he'd probably win again. He was probably a little bit short. Dan (Daly, owner) rode him out at home for a while to give him a change of scenery and we have him back less than four weeks. When I saw him kicking turning in I thought he'd blow up but in all fairness he kept going. They went very fast. Dan has run three horses here during the winter and they've all won. Chaparral Dream, All's Quiet and this lad are the only three he has with me. He's had a good winter.
