Course specialist Music claimed at Dundalk
he’s a grand old horse and when he gets to the front I think it makes a difference. He got challenged here the last day and headed and he didn’t enjoy it. He’s just a better horse doing that and at this level he’s just a bit better class. He’s ideal for those races and he loves the surface.
Gravity proves to strong at Dundalk
I was going to run him in the claimer but then thought we’d go for the handicap with his mark and a top class claimer on him. When I saw the draw I was very confident and he just seems to love the place. We’ll tip away through the winter and maybe run him in one of the good handicaps now. He (the handicapper) slaughtered my horse last week (Black Label) so I’m sure I’m going to get the same - he gave him 10lb so what he’s going to give him (Specific Gravity) I don’t know but we’ll take it. Sean Gallagher is a great owner of mine and has been a great patron.
Adieux says goodbye to maiden status
we weren’t convinced she’d go on the surface but I had a chat with Seamie (Heffernan) after she ran in Leopardstown and he said to bring her up and give her a trial. We did that and Wayne was very happy with her the night he rode her here - we said we’d try it once and we might have just about got away with it. She won’t be coming back again - she’ll have a break now but it was just important to win as a three-year-old as the owner bred her. She’s a fine big filly and I’d say we’ll see a nice filly next year.
Burning Brightly continues winning ways
he’s a lovely horse and is improving all the time. It was a very tough performance to carry that weight for a two-year-old and we’d be hopeful he’ll improve again from that. He might come back here again but we don’t know yet.
Oliver can celebrate with bargain Fizzy Friday
she actually has a very good pedigree and is by Royal Applause out of a good mare. I think she was just last in and had no reserve and I stuck my hand up. it looked a decent maiden and she was still very green and didn’t really know much but it was well done. Conor gave her a lovely ride - she’s a nice filly and has always shown us a bit; we do think a bit of her and have done. She’s a very correct filly and we’ve always thought she had a fair bit to offer and just took our time with her. Conor gave her a nice ride, a good education and she should be one with improvement. There’s nothing else for her now and we’ll see what transpires from here but she’s certainly a filly we’d hope will improve and the pedigree says she’ll get further as well. Hopefully she is one to look forward to.
Plough Boy gains maiden Dundalk win
It was tight but I thought we had just sneaked it - we’ve come out the wrong side a few times lately so I was just a bit worried,. He’s a good tough hardy horse, has been running solidly all year and loves fast ground. He has just been a bit keen early in his races and burning himself out. We put the hood on to see if it would relax him and they went good and hard which suits him. The handicapper has given him a bit of a chance so we’ll keep going. He’s easy trained and keeps himself fit.

Ballydoyle appointee scores Dundalk double
I knew he wouldn’t be far away as he was in good form - never better. He wants that surface, good ground and ran a few times on soft and didn’t handle it. He’ll come back here in two weeks times for another similar race and I think he can win again. The handicapper can’t do an awful lot with him and it’s great that he’s won.
