Bold takes Leopardstown opener on debut
He's owned by Sam McCauley (chemist retailer) who lives on Rectory Road in Enniscorthy and this is his first Flat horse. I think he's a very nice horse and he's a great looker. He's easier to manage than his sire and has his guts. There are two big seven-furlong races on his agenda, the National Stakes and the Dewhurst, and whatever comes inbetween.
Casimiro justifies favouritism
They went a million miles an hour which suited and he stayed the trip well. He'd a bad draw here the last day so there is the improvement but you couldn't argue with his resolution.
Magnetic North breaks his maiden for Colgan/Lavery
As a two-year-old I think he got stage fright as we always liked him. His first run this year at Gowran he was all over the shop and didn’t have a clue. Today Robbie said he was much more professional but it was only near the line that the penny was starting to drop and he thinks there is a huge amount of improvement still in him. He rode a hurdle winner last night and now on the Flat — how cool is that! I’ve been training five years and Robbie has been with me every day since I started. I kept asking him to lock his fridge and now he has!. We’ll see what the handicapper thinks and take it from there.
Brabazon on the mark with Waterboy
He's a very big, leggy, backward horse. We always liked him but he's just done nothing but grow the last two years, and any time we ran him on soft he just got lost through weakness. The three runs he's had on good ground were three super runs. He's related to Study Of Man that is fancied for the French Derby and the third dam is Miesque so he's bred to be useful but just terribly slow to get the message mentally and physically but mainly physically. He's finally learning to be a bit of a racehorse but I'm not going to rush him because he's still a big frame. Next year he will be into the frame, and the penny is just dropping now. Seamie thinks he will go on now but I won't rush him back. I didn't want to go for a mile race coming back dramatically from a mile and a half but there was nothing else, and I knew a mile at Leopardstown was good and safe. Seamie said maybe a mile is right for him.

She has been going well and I think the step up in trip was a help. We couldn't hold her last year over seven furlongs so she has really settled well.
