An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference inside the final furlong involving the winner Miraculous Getaway (IRE) ridden by Jonathan England and Post No Bills (IRE), placed second, ridden by Callum Bewley.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Miraculous Getaway’s placing as the interference suffered by Post No Bills (IRE) was of a relatively minor nature, with only three slight bumps and no loss of ground or momentum before being beaten by a head at the line.
England was cautioned for careless riding as he had failed to take sufficient steps to prevent his mount drifting left-handed, causing slight interference to Post No Bills (IRE).
Jonathan England, the rider of the winner, Miraculous Getaway (IRE) was suspended for 2 days for using his whip above the permitted level from after the last fence.
Following the race, Thomas Wilmot reported that Mah Mate Bob, placed seventh, was never travelling.
Brian Hughes reported that Goldrapper (IRE), which was pulled up, weakened quickly; the Veterinary Officer reported a post-race examination found the gelding to be lame left-hind with a wound on the same leg.
