Permission was given for Croupier (IRE) to wear a red hood to post and for Vintage Choice (IRE) to go early to post.
Leaving the stalls Croupier (IRE), placed fifth, jumped awkwardly and shifted right-handed, moving Moon Watch (IRE), unplaced, into the path of Yaaser (IRE), placed fourth, which was crowded for room and lost ground, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Oisin Orr the rider of Amaysmont (GB), unplaced, reported that the left stirrup bar on his saddle snapped approximately 3 furlongs out, causing him to lose his left stirrup iron and he had subsequently kicked his right foot out of the other stirrup iron and rode out a finish with no irons, leaving him at a significant disadvantage thereafter.
The Stewards considered that the failure could not have been predicted with the saddle apparently being in a serviceable condition prior to the race.
Therefore, they took no further action.
Following the race, Luke Morris reported that Croupier (IRE), placed fifth, was denied a clear run 2 furlongs out.
George Rooke reported that Sucellus (GB), placed sixth, was denied a clear run for some distance from approaching 2 furlongs out until passing 1½ furlongs out.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Amor Vincit Omnia (IRE), unplaced, lost its right-hind shoe.
