He was 4lb out of the handicap but we had to take our chances as he is probably crying out for that distance. A.J. Slattery, rider of Zaraahmando, trained by Andrew Slattery, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran freely
The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident down the back straight involving Shocker, ridden by C.D. Hayes, placed fifth, and Zaraahmando, ridden by A.J. Slattery, placed fourth, where it appeared Zaraahmando was running freely and had to switch off heels causing Shocker to receive a bump. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
