The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Sir Jimmy Mac, trained by Mark Fahey, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be lame left hind
The Raceday Stewards interviewed R.A. Doyle, rider of Sir Jimmy Mac, trained by Mark Fahey, concerning his riding from the final hurdle when his mount appeared to be wrong behind. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that his mount had made a mistake at the last two hurdles but on racing away from the final hurdle, he did not feel any abnormality and on pulling up after the winning post, his mount put his head down and went by other finishers. He accepted that the video evidence suggested that his mount was wrong behind but assured the Raceday Stewards that he would have dismounted immediately if he had felt that anything was amiss
Having viewed the recording and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards agreed with the rider's assessment of the situation and noted his explanation.
