The Stewards interviewed Ms. Maria Richert, trainer, concerning the failure to nominate a rider before the designated time for Jet Ranger. Evidence was heard from the trainer who stated that yesterday morning she was awaiting the availability of Ms Nina Carberry but learnt at 10.a.m that she was required to ride for Gordon Elliot. She advised the Stewards of a number of riders that were contacted but their unavailability was due to varying reasons. She added that Mr L.J. McGuinness returned her call after the deadline to offer his availability. Having considered the evidence the Stewards allowed the nomination but cautioned Ms Richert concerning her responsibility to comply with Rule 195 (i) The Stewards enquired into an incident soon after the turn into the straight involving Apasionado (GER), ridden by Mr D.L. Queally, placed third, Robin Des Mana, ridden by Ms N. Carberry, placed first, Jet Ranger, ridden by Mr L.J. McGuinness , unplaced, Our Valentina, ridden by Mr J.P. O'Sullivan, brought down and Qery, ridden by Mr J.J. Codd, brought down. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that the incident was accidental and did not apportion blame to any rider.
