Permission was given for Club Tropicana (GB) to wear a hood in the Parade Ring only and Freckles (GB) to go early to post and be mounted in the chute; Settle Petal (GB) wore earplugs which were removed at the start.

Scott McCullagh reported that Le Maharajah (FR), unplaced, stopped quickly; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Peter Hiatt reported that Baashiq (IRE), which started second favourite and finished seventh, was unsuited by the going, which was officially described as Soft on this occasion, and would prefer a faster surface.
