An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference from the last fence to the line, involving Knight In Dubai (IRE), placed second, ridden by Mr Rupert Stearn and Firak (FR), placed third, ridden by Mr Sean O'Connor.
Being 7lb claiming amateurs, both riders were offered accompaniment but declined.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Knight In Dubai (IRE)’s placing as Firak (FR) appeared to always be held to be beaten a going away length.
Mr Stearn was suspended for 3 days, on dates to be notified to him by the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority, for careless riding as he continued to allow his horse to shift left-handed without sufficient correction, giving two bumps to Firak (FR) who was also carried off its intended line.
