Approaching the furlong maker, the winner Mintana (GB) shifted quickly right-handed at the same time as Por Ti Volare (GB), placed second, drifted left-handed resulting in both runners making slight contact before both being quickly corrected by their riders.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Mintana (GB).
Following the race, William Carson reported that Por Ti Volare (GB), placed second, ran green.
