Permission was given for Amaysmont (GB) to go early to post, for Kingwood Queen (FR) to wear a red hood to post and to be mounted on the chute and for Monsieur Beaulieu (GB) to go early to post wearing a red hood.
Yorkstone (GB), drawn 12, anticipated the start and accelerated the gate at the same moment as the race had been started.
Being satisfied that it was not caused through a faulty action of the starting stalls, no further action was taken.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference on the run to the line involving Showtime Mahomes (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Mr Jack Nicholls, Amaysmont (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Miss Lauren Frost and Mr Ross Birkett, the rider of Tyger Bay (GB), placed third.
Being a 7lb claimer, Miss Frost was accompanied by a senior jockey.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Showtime Mahomes (GB)’s placing as the gelding appeared to be going away from Amaysmont (GB) at the point of interference which was within close proximity to the line.
The interference was found to be accidental as Showtime Mahomes (GB) shifted quickly right-handed approaching the line which gave AMAYSONT a bump which in turn gave a bump to Tyger Bay (GB).
