Daisy does it again at Kilbeggan
She keeps surprising us. Ian's five pound claim made the difference. She'll go for a handicap now, she is in a three miler at Listowel on Thursday but that'll come a bit quick and we'll wait. There will be plenty of other opportunities for her. She is small but she'll probably end up in a mares chase in the winter.
Dashing Ruby on the mark again at Kilbeggan
I told the owner (Martin Campbell) that he wouldn't win because I thought the ground would be too soft. I'm hoping he'll be better on better ground and if he is we have something to look forward to. He'll have no trouble getting three miles.
Mary fails to cope with War
O'Grady & McNamara double up with Jack
He jumps well. He has had leg trouble and it is a credit to everyone in the yard to get him back. He has been very consistent and it looks like he'll get a little further. He could go for some of those long distance chases later in the year.
Fisher makes impressive chase debut
He was a bit better than them over hurdles and he seems to have done that very well. I like to start them off round here as it can give them a bit of confidence over the small fences. He doesn't like real heavy ground and he'll probably have a rest now until the middle of the winter.
Lucy keeps up the family tradition
I have no plans. She doesn't do a stroke at home, a donkey would beat her! She reminds me of Solerina, though it is probably the kiss of death comparing her to a great mare like that. Hurdling will be her job. She is fast and quick over them. She would probably prefer a bigger galloping track but they went a good gallop there and that suited as she is a dour stayer.
