Lucy keeps up the family tradition Lucy Stone, absent for 107 days since making a promising debut at Punchestown in May, showed the benefit of that experience when sauntering to a two and a half length win in the Cornaher Flat Race. Brian Hayes was on terms on the daughter of Sonus for the last half a mile and it was only a matter of when he decided to let her stride on. This he did in the straight and the 5/2 favourite saw off outsider, Sir Gallant, by two and a half lengths. Winning trainer, Michael Bowe said of the half-sister to Sweet Kiln and Earth Magic (from the family of Limestone Lad): "I have no plans. She doesn't do a stroke at home, a donkey would beat her! She reminds me of Solerina, though it is probably the kiss of death comparing her to a great mare like that. Hurdling will be her job. She is fast and quick over them. She would probably prefer a bigger galloping track but they went a good gallop there and that suited as she is a dour stayer."
