Tommydan wins dramatic Clonmel opener
Ambrose was fantastic on him and must have seen the other horse (Karakhan) coming. His owner Dan Creedon, from Macroom, fell off something and hurt his back and can't be here but bad as it is, he's probably falling off the chair at home! He'll be thrilled as he bred the horse, took him to the sales and couldn't sell him. He ran in a Claimer at Limerick the last day where I thought he ran very well, but you couldn't claim the devil. He's a funny horse and you wouldn't ride him out on your own at home. You wouldn't get out of the yard but once you get him going he has loads of ability. The six year olds weren't allowed run in the point-to-points earlier in the year and that's why we came down the track route and we fancied him today.
Golfe Clair survives final flight blunder
McCurtin doubles up on Romella
We were waiting for a bit of nice ground with her and were lucky to get in (as first reserve). She has a low action and had done well on soft ground but just couldn't handle heavy ground. That's her job and she'll stay going as long as we can. She won handy enough.
Diggin Deep brings his homework to the track
He was working seriously well but disappointed in Tramore last week when we were absolutely disgusted. On Sunday we put a tongue-tie and blinkers on him and he worked like the way he was working going to Tramore. The ground is proper quick and he hasn't got that for a while but it was the blinkers, in my mind, that made the difference - we won't be leaving them off him anyway. He was a cheap horse, has done his job and has the option over fences now as well. Killian Carroll owns him and works with me as a farrier but not in the yard. It's his first horse, we said we'd have a bit of fun and it's great. There's lads that spend an awful lot of money and never get into a winners' enclosure.
Hanlon full of praise for Hewick's jockey Fenelon
He needs that fast ground. There are tracks over-watering but we are in the summer and when you're in the summer, you want fast ground. I think over-watering is very wrong and they should bring it back to 'safe', that's all they should do.
O'Connor gets tactics right on Arvico Bleu
Arvico has shown so much over the years but obviously has been a bit disappointing but hopefully that might rejuvenate him. His experience told, Mikey kept it simple, he jumped really well and was brilliant on him. Mikey is doing really well, is a good worker, a good rider and a nice fellow to work with, so I'm delighted for him.
O'Connor and de Bromhead at double with Ingleby Mackenzie
I'm delighted for David Maughan, it's his first winner and he has had a couple of horses with us and Paul Roche recommended the horse to us. He is from Dublin and has been very patient. The horse loves that better ground and hopefully we'll have a bit of sport with him and he is in Wexford on Wednesday so we might think about going there. I'm delighted for Michael (O'Connor) - it's his first double and he is really going places.
Dani Barcelona scores on debut
She is quite small like her mother (Dani California) and could go back to the Flat no problem. She loves that good ground - her mother was a Cesarewitch winner and was a similar type.
