The Stewards enquired into possible interference inside the final furlong involving Singsong Lady, ridden by G.F
Carroll, placed first and Jezebel Queen, ridden by M.A. Enright, placed second, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, M.A. Enright stated that his mount was maintaining a straight course when Singsong Lady came out to meet his mount with contact being made which unbalanced his own mount and in his opinion cost his filly the winning of the race. G.F. Carroll stated that he challenged Jezebel Queen while keeping apart from her but his own mount ducked from an advertising sign. In his own opinion this movement did not have any effect on the stride or action of the challenger. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that Singsong Lady had caused interference to Jezebel Queen and as a result of this interference had improved it’s finishing position
As a consequence, the Stewards reversed the placings of the first and second placed horses and amended the result to read as follows: Amended Result: First: Jezebel Queen Second: Singsong Lady Third: Santa Catarina (GB) Fourth: The Hansome Prince Fifth: Snow Lotus Sixth: Breach (GB)
The Stewards took no further action
G.F. Carroll, rider of Singsong Lady trained by Gavin Cromwell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ducked from an advertising board in the closing stages of this race
M.A. Gallagher, rider of Snow Lotus trained by Kieran P. Cotter, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran free in the early part of this race.
