D.P. McDonogh, rider of Nativity Square, trained by J. S. Bolger, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that he had to take off heels on the first bend

S.B. Kelly, rider of Declaree, trained by J.P. Murtagh, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that he used his whip down the shoulder in the forehand position for corrective purposes. The Raceday Stewards had reviewed this action with the whip and were satisfied that the action of the rider was corrective and therefore took no further action

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident after the first bend involving Luxurious Princess, ridden by J

Cleary and Pearl Jewel, ridden by R.C. Colgan, where it appeared that Pearl Jewel clipped a heel. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. R.C. Colgan stated that Luxurious Princess was running free and left him short of room and he clipped a heel as a result. J. Cleary stated that his mount was running free and caused interference when he went in front. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that J. Cleary was in breach of Rule 214 (careless riding). Having considered his clean record in this regard and using their discretion the Raceday Stewards suspended J. Cleary for one raceday.
