We're delighted with that. He's been a good servant over the years and he's so much better handicapped over hurdles than fences so it was nice to get one with him,. He had promised a couple of times when he was placed but he was just very disappointing the last day. It's good that he's back and showed a nice bit of sparkle there. Mark said he was even keen at one or two points in the race. It's great to have a winner in those colours. I'd like to have one crack at the Munster National with him. We're only waiting two or three years for that!. He's had five seconds and a third but he has run into good horses every time. The horse in Killarney came out and won a good race in Listowel. Looking at it you'd question if he's genuine or not but he is but he's just been unfortunate really. Today was his day. He handles quick ground, the time was 3.45 there so it's proper good ground. We'll put him into a handicap now and see what mark we get. He'll go novice chasing during the summer next year but I'd say for the moment we'll just play it by ear. He had been a bit disappointing but it all came good today,. He had been difficult at the start a couple of times. In Galway he whipped around a bit and then got into it by coming up on the outside but then got cut off. Every day there was something. Today he jumped off nice and smart and jumped away well. Mark kept him to the outside to try and keep him sweet and he jumped well and won well enough. He's only six and we'll look for something similar. I wouldn't like the ground to deteriorate too much. He wears a tongue-tie for a reason. One some of the good tracks you wouldn't know what would happen (ground-wise). We didn't over-run him as there hasn't been much for him over the summer. He's a fine big horse, he has plenty of scope and the ground is beautiful out there. He disappointed us in Gowran the last day, but the ground was typical heavy Gowran ground. He won his maiden hurdle in Naas and then ran a nice race in Gowran. He was favourite there the last day, but just got stuck in it. I wasn't sure what way he'd go today, he had schooled great. It was just really to get his confidence back and give him something different to do. He was a bit guessy at a few. He has so much scope that he was kind of getting too brave. Two out he stood outside the wings and then he landed on his head. I'd say it knocked the stuffing out of him, he went from travelling really well to having to chase after him. He seems to handle that ground lovely, and country tracks, so we'll keep him on the go. He'll be a novice until November now. He won half a length there, so I suppose he (handicapper) can't be too hard on him. It was an ordinary race, although Clondaw Hollow had some good back form. I then ran him back over hurdles and he didn’t seem to get home so we said we’d try a tongue tie today and it seems to have worked. On a lot of his hurdles runs, he was entitled to go very close here. He's a really, really impossible horse to predict and train because you have to train him 70 per cent of what I train the other horses. He is kept fresh all the time so you are never sure you have him fit. What a horse, I think he has won nine or 10 in total. I think he has won four or five for me and you see the size of him. He carried top weight in Tramore the last day. He seems to be better over hurdles. He'll mix it and end up in Galway I'd say either on the Flat or over hurdles. I'd say he will go to the UK as he is a novice so I might pick up a novice over there at some point. He'll probably end up at Cheltenham in October. He was there last year and actually ran a really good race. We thought we only had to turn up in Dundalk a couple of times and he didn't fire and I don't know if he is still in love with it as he was.
