Jayne has a small outfit, only has a couple of horses so I'm delighted for her more than anything. I'm based down in Waterford with Henry De Bromhead at the moment, so I can drop over to Jayne when she needs me. That's her second winner and it was nice to get one over the line for her. his last couple of runs were good and I thought if I got him placed right, he probably would win. He missed the last but when I got stuck into him he really put his head down and galloped to the line.

The Stewards interviewed C. Brassil, rider of Western Dreaming (FR), concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider and IHRB Veterinary Officer. In his evidence, C. Brassil admitted that he had misjudged his use of the whip and apologised for his actions. He also concurred with the findings of the IHRB Veterinary Officer. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that C. Brassil was in breach of R10(3)(f) by using his whip with excessive force and R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended C. Brassil for four racedays
J.C. Gainford, rider of Powerful Blue trained by E.Sheehy, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount did not get a clear run from the fourth last hurdle.
An extended handicap hurdle for four years old and upwards rated 80-95
Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap shall carry 7lb extra for each hurdle race won.
