He had good form and we're delighted to get that. He bumped into a good one here the last day and he was probably a bit unlucky in Roscommon. He's a nice horse going forward. I was a bit afraid with the speed they went down over the first and I was glad to see James (O'Sullivan) taking a pull as they were going a crazy gallop. He's a little bit buzzy and that's why we put the hood on him, especially here with the long walk up from the stables. We'll see what mark he gets now and could also look at a novice. He's not a slow horse, Luke (Dempsey) rode him here the last day and felt he was a horse that could maybe do something on the Flat towards the back end. J P Dempsey, trainer

The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Stoneyford Boy, ridden by G. Brouder, and trained by Andrew McNamara. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. G. Brouder, stated that his instructions were to drop his mount in and get him to settle, as he can be very free, and to achieve his best possible finishing position. He stated that his mount was still quite keen and did not jump particularly well but he picked up well when he asked him for his effort and then missed the second last. Furthermore, he added that he then felt he was not going to catch the first and second horses and he thought it was unnecessary to be hard on his mount when he had already achieved his best placing. The Stewards noted the evidence of Andrew McNamara, who confirmed the instructions given but felt that G. Brouder could have put his mount into the race earlier and made more effort in the closing stages. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that Stoneyford Boy was post race normal. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards found G. Brouder in breach of Rule 212.A.(ii), in that he had failed to make a genuine attempt to obtain from his mount timely, real and substantial efforts to achieve the best possible placing

Having considered G. Brouder's record in this regard the Stewards suspended G. Brouder for fourteen racedays and ordered that he forfeit his riding fee. Furthermore, pursuant to the provisions of Rule 212.C.(d), the Stewards suspended Stoneyford Boy for fourty two racedays.

Riders - Confined to Professional & Claiming Professional Riders who have not ridden more than 10 winners under any N.H. Rules from 1st September, 2019 to 31st August, 2020 inclusive. (Qualified Riders are excluded from riding in this race)
