FormscanBy Mark Nunan - NOTEBOOK finished last season with a couple of disappointing runs across the water but has a very good record first time out and is the one to beat on his first start since April. A top novice a couple of years ago, he readily dismissed Fakir D’oudairies at Naas on last season’s comeback before twice running creditably in defeat behind the top-class Chacun Pour Soi at Leopardstown. This looks like a very good opportunity for Henry de Bromhead’s charge. Jack Kennedy was successful aboard Samcro when last riding him at Killarney in May but the 9-year-old has been disappointing on his last couple of starts. He’s tried in blinkers and drops to 2m for the first time over fences but there are plenty of question marks against his name at this point. Bridge Native is an admirable five-time chase winner but has 8lb to find with the selection at the weights while Kitty Galore easily beat Make My Heart Fly at Thurles but this looks a step too far for John Ryan’s promising novice.
