Tribal Moon stuck on gamely for Paddy Harnett to claim the apprentice handicap at Dundalk for trainer Danny Murphy.

The Teofilo gelding had produced a couple of solid performances last month having won over course and distance in November.

He was to the fore throughout today and forged ahead from Nedita over a furlong from home. Morning Approach ran on in second but could only get within half-a-length of the 11/2 winner.

Harnett said: "He won here before, he ran well, and then he finished second. He was sixth the last day, but they found a bit of a niggly problem with him.

"Fair play to Danny and his team, they had him spot on for today.

"He did it easily - I was walking in front and he quickened up well up the straight.

"A good performance."
