Gutsy Colin springs shock The John Ryan-trained Bitview Colin pulled out all the stops on the run-in to spring a 22/1 shock in the Jossestown Handicap Chase at Clonmel. Liam Quinlan sent his mount to the front before the second last in the two-miler but he was strongly pressed at the final fence by Nelly's Money and Hollybank King. The former pushed him all the way to the line but Bitview Colin was gutsy under Liam Quinlan as he stuck his neck out for a half length win. There was a stewards enquiry with the winner drifting left after the final fence, hampering eventual fourth Hollybank King, but the result stood. Bitview Colin was dropping back in trip having been well beaten over two-miles-six at Tramore on New Year's Day. “He was very good over hurdles where he won off 116 but obviously broke down and had his problems,” said Ryan. "He is a class horse and was always capable of winning that type of race - I'll be disappointed if I don't hold on to it!" (Quotes by Tom Weekes)
