Cross card brace for Elliott Dortmund Park heralded a good start to 2018 for Gordon Elliott and he brought up an across the card double when Cubomania won the Kilbarry Lodge Stud — Home Of Diamond Boy Handicap Hurdle at Tramore. Cubomina won at Down Royal six days back and Jack Kennedy here got the roan or grey coloured Halling gelding home by two and three parts of a length from Three Kings. The 2/1 favourite is now two from two since joining the Cullentra House team. Ian Amond, assistant trainer to Gordon Elliott, said: "It's hard coming out like that a couple of days after winning on that type of ground. He was gutsy enough to get the job done. "There probably will be another day or two in him looking at that, and he probably will stay a bit further. It's never easy coming back that soon. He is two from two since he came to us, so he is doing alright." R.P. Treacy, rider of Lady Mona Lisa trained by E.Sheehy, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount tired quickly. P.F. Mangan, rider of Conna Cross trained by James Joseph Mangan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount stopped quickly at the top of the hill. (DM & EM)
