He's a good little rider and he's good value for his 7lb. The horse likes that ground, he jumped and travelled. If he got into the Kim Muir we'd take our chance. He's a straight-forward horse and would suit that type of race. He's been knocking on the door. He'll be entered in the Irish National as well and we'll see what happens.

It looked to be a fair mistake but he didn't lose a terrible lot of ground. I was standing at the last watching it on my phone,. He looked well handicapped on his hurdles form and ultimately he was. He's in on Tuesday at Down Royal but he might not get in as he's number eight in the ballot. If he comes out of that okay and he gets in he might run. I'm not sure, we'll see what the handicapper does.

We are thrilled to get that as we were worried about running him back so soon after Limerick. When the ground was like this I said I'd keep going and three miles suited,. The minute he jumped the third hurdle I knew he was on song and was loving it. He really likes around here, seems to love the hurdles here and won here three years ago when it was like the river. He'll probably go for the 3m6f handicap chase at the Punchestown festival now as he finished second in it last year. There is a three-mile hurdle here during Easter but it is 0-116 and he might be out of it now.

we can't take a whole lot of praise for this one as it goes to Richard O'Brien - we don't have him very long. Richard had recommended him to us and we bought him after doing a gallop. We made a mistake last year, he told us he'd win this bumper with Impulsive Dancer but we didn't act quickly enough. Impulsive Dancer won and Willie (Mullins) bought him, but thankfully we haven't made the same mistake twice!. Richard did a wonderful job, he's a lovely straight fella and a great fella to deal with. He trained him basically as he's not long in our place. He's a lovely relaxed horse, showed a great attitude today and is a real pro. Barry O'Neill would ride all our bumper horses but part of the deal (with O'Brien) was that Eoin would keep the ride. He gave him a super ride and dictated everything in front. He's a very likeable horse. We have no plans but he might go to Limerick for a listed bumper.

it took a long time to get Cast A Spell’s act together jumping: she got brought down one day schooling in Thurles and didn't forget it for a long time. The last day at Cork, she was actually heavily in season when she got her black-type and we didn't know until afterwards. We knew that she was a lot better mare than at Cork. She was faultless there today and she has the talent. She always runs with the handbrake a bit half-on, so there is a lot more there than she gives. I found those type of horses will always win plenty of races: she might not win every day, but will win more nice races. I only have a couple of horses so it is great to get a race like this, in a place like this, at a festival like this. We will keep an eye on other festivals now.

She has been absolutely brilliant and it's hard not to love her, . She is very very consistent in everything we ask her to do and we're very lucky to have her. I felt I was getting good at training horses to finish second! Coming down here tonight I thought this lad had a decent chance. He made two mistakes the last day and tonight looked like a lesser contest really. I'll probably give him a break now for a month as he is a big raw five-year-old. He won nicely and it's great to get a winner. I had a second in the last race and another one last night at Ballinrobe and you'd be wondering what you had done wrong. The horses are flying though, and that's my third winner of the season. The track have done an amazing job here. I was disappointed to hear some of my comrades not happy with over watering. I think you can't water enough and on a night when it's drying out you have to err on the side of caution. Everyone is putting in a lot of work at the moment to have it safe. that was a while coming and for a long time, we were scratching out heads wondering what to do with him. I though we would drop him back to 2m4f and make more use of him, he had gone down the ratings and truth be known, it wasn't the strongest race in the world. He took a run on softish ground at Downpatrick the last day and it helped get his confidence back. We had been at the end of our tether with him to get him healthy but takes minding, is trained out of a field now and they were things we had to learn. In fairness to the handicapper he had given him a chance also. we were in a yard from which I couldn't get him or any of the horses to run well and moved yards last August which has helped. I am currently renting a barn from Cormac Farrell in Bunclody and from August on am taking over the whole yard and will have room for 33 horses - I'll try to fill them.
