I thought Scotsirish made hard work of it but the ground was very heavy. His banking is very slick and he is getting better at it all the time - I imagine he'll go to that Corss Country Race at Cheltenham now and hopefully himself and Uncle Junior will go there.

we've been surprised at home how well Scotsirish took to those fences and we've to thank Ted Walsh for the use of his bank for both Scotsirish and Uncle Junior to practise. Scotsirish didn't even jump as well today as he has at home and while it's been hard work trying to win with him over the last two years, it's now good to have another avenue with him. Cheltenham is on his agenda and we might mix it with him. There is a good programme in France for him and there are a selection there which I have my eye on.

I don't know if we're happy with that result or not as I received a text message from my son Patrick who had him organised to go hunter chasing next season!. He was a bit fortunate but it was great to win a prize like this. He has been a good servant over the years and will stay handicapping.

At least this fellow looks like a proper bumper horse. I think he'll be better on better ground. He has just disappointed me at home and I think it was just the heavy ground after all the bad weather we've been having.
