I couldn’t believe the price he was. He’s (rated) 138 over fences and 117 over hurdles and he’s better over hurdles. He stays three miles all day and won his point-to-point first time out, so distance is no problem. He was good. It’s a nice prize and hopefully the handicapper won’t be too hard on him.

He'll run in the Kerry National now and I'll have two for it, with him and Kylecrue. The two horses were nip and tuck on the gallops recently and I knew he (Kilcarry Bridge) would go close today,. This fellow will go straight for the Kerry National and it's hard luck to Donagh Meyler who has gone to Australia (for the Ireland-Australia Jockeys' Series) but Danny won his beginners chase on him. The horses are back flying at the moment.

Off that weight I knew he had a huge chance. The trip (2m1f) was too short for him last time. It was 2m2f today on a bigger track and really he's a two and a half mile horse. He's as tough as nails. He's entered in the novice handicap chase at Cheltenham but he won't get in. I think that much of him. He's the real deal. He will probably go for the Aon Chase at Punchestown. That might be his next run, and he would prefer better ground. He handles soft but is better on good ground. He will campaign away for the summer. Draycott Place (stable companion, finished last) is probably not over his fall at Thurles last time. He didn't travel like he usually would.

He's had six or seven seconds over fences and is an unlucky little horse. He looked like a really nice horse but got an injury and we've had to nurse him back and it took a few runs to get him back to match practise. Danny gave him a right spin and a super ride but it wasn't the best race in the world. It's ideal for his confidence and I'll look for a little handicap with him next.

We really fancied him tonight. He was in tip top form. He needed the run in Sligo and I knew he'd improve from that. I didn't think he'd improve as much . he's a smasher. If he wins another one who knows where we'll go with him. He's a lovely horse.

He won his maiden here in similar fashion. He lost his confidence over fences then but he's a smashing horse.

I'm mad about this fella, he's a smashing horse and we'll probably keep him going for a while. Summer soft is probably his ground so it may have been a bit too soft for him today. He does need to go much further though.
