- Stewards Report
Annie Rose (GB), drawn 6, anticipated the start and accelerated the gate at the same moment as the race had been started, thereby enabling the filly to break quickly.
Being satisfied that it was not caused through a faulty action of the starting stalls, no further action was taken.
The winner, Annie Rose (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Southwell on 22 December 2021, where the filly finished ninth of fourteen, beaten by 7¾ lengths.
The representative of David Barron could offer no explanation for the filly’s improved form, other than Annie Rose (GB) may have appreciated the return to Wolverhampton, where she was already a multiple winner.
Annie Rose (GB) was routine tested.
An enquiry was held to consider interference on the run to the line, involving the winner, Annie Rose (GB), ridden by Connor Beasley and Dark Side Prince (GB), placed third, ridden by Thore Hammer Hansen.
Beasley was cautioned for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to drift right-handed without timely correction, carrying Dark Side Prince (GB) off its intended line.
Following the race, Thore Hammer Hansen reported that Dark Side Prince (GB) ran too freely.
Hollie Doyle reported that Dream Game (GB), placed fourth, jumped awkwardly from the stalls and Sam James reported that Savalas (IRE), unplaced, was slowly away.
