The Galloping Bear (GB), trained by Ben Clarke had entered the Parade Ring after the signal to mount had been given.
As Clarke’s entry was only slightly after the signal to mount had been given and did not cause a delay to either the parade or the start time of the race, the Stewards reminded Clarke of his duty to ensure that runners are in the Parade Ring on time.
Shortly after jumping the first fence, both The Big Breakaway (IRE), which was later pulled up, and Blade Runner (FR), which was later pulled up, became short of room as the horses to their inside moved right-handed to navigate the inside rail coming out, at the same time as Iwilldoit (GB), placed third, which was on their outside, maintained its line, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Iwilldoit (GB).
At the first fence in the back straight on the final circuit, Chambard (FR), which was later pulled up, made a bad mistake, slightly hampering Autonomous Cloud (IRE), which was later pulled up, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Adam Wedge reported that The Big Breakaway (IRE), which was pulled up, was never travelling; the Veterinary Officer reported that Blade Runner (FR), which was pulled up, lost its right-fore shoe, and that Autonomous Cloud (IRE), which was pulled up, bled from the nose.
