The other horse clearly gave him a couple of bumps and the second one was a fairly heft one,. Mark came in and was adamant he would have won the race. The old horse was coming and I'd say justice has been done today.

The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Min (FR), ridden by P. Townend, placed first and Simply Ned, ridden by M.P. Walsh, placed second. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned
Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Min had caused interference to Simply Ned and in doing so had improved his finishing position. The Stewards therefore reversed the placings of the first two horses
The result now reads; First; Simply Ned, Second; Min(FR), Third; Ordinary World, Fourth; WoodLand Opera, Fifth; Tell Us More
Furthermore, the Stewards were of the opinion that P. Townend was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly and having considered his clean record, suspended him for 2 racedays.
