Permission was given for Bulls Aye (IRE) to go early and be led to post, and for Dr Rio (FR) to be mounted in the chute and go early to post.
Exiting the back straight, the winner, Freak Out (IRE) edged slightly left, briefly crowding Dr Rio (FR), placed sixth, for room but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved, and it had not improved the placing of Freak Out (IRE).
The winner, Freak Out (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Chester on 10 September 2021, where the gelding finished seventh of eight, beaten by 13½ lengths.
The explanation from the representative of Karen Tutty that Freak Out (IRE) was suited by a better draw and a more galloping track was noted.
Following the race, David Allan reported that Golden Dove (GB), placed second, hung right.
