An enquiry was held into the running and riding of Irish Charm (FR), ridden by Gabriele Malune and trained by Ivan Furtado, which after breaking slowly from the stalls and settling slightly worse than midfield, had stayed on under apparent tender handling to finish ninth of twelve, beaten by 11 lengths.

The rider and the trainer were interviewed and shown recordings of the race and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the colt, during routine testing, failed to reveal any abnormalities.

The rider stated that he had been instructed to make Irish Charm (FR) begin with a view to obtaining a prominent position, however, the colt had missed the break before racing greenly in the middle stages.

He added that he was reluctant to commence a run three-wide leaving the back straight, because Irish Charm (FR) was still learning how to gallop and he felt this would have been a detrimental move, before stating that he had placed the colt under pressure entering the home straight whereupon Irish Charm (FR) had commenced to hang left-handed, a fact which he had reported at Scales, and this had prevented him from riding a more vigorous finish.

Malune further added that he had been unable to switch his whip through to his left hand as Irish Charm (FR) had been hanging to such an extent and he was concerned about causing interference to the runners on his inside.

The trainer confirmed the instructions and was satisfied with the ride given, allowing for the fact that the colt had been slowly away which meant he had got further back than intended and raced very greenly.

Furtado added that the rider had recommended running Irish Charm (FR) in a ring bit on its next start, having worn a snaffle on this occasion and also indicated he would most likely step the colt up in trip.

Their explanations were noted.

Following the race, Darragh Keenan reported that Angel Dundee (GB), unplaced, hung badly right-handed throughout.

The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the filly failed to reveal any abnormalities.

Eoin Walsh reported that Risk Mitigation (USA), unplaced, ran greenly, Kieran O'Neill reported that Cardano (USA), unplaced, hung left-handed, Hollie Doyle reported that Maisie Moo (GB), placed third, hung left-handed in the home straight and Liam Jones reported that Angel Black (IRE), unplaced, was denied a clear run in the home straight.
