Permission was given for Champagne Court (IRE) to wear a red hood in the parade ring.
Having reviewed recordings of the false start, the Starters were satisfied that no riders should be reported for contravening the starting procedures.
Approaching the last fence the winner, Certainly Red (GB), drifted right-handed giving Golden Sovereign (IRE), placed second, a slight bump before being quickly corrected its rider.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Certainly Red (GB).
The performance of Southfield Harvest (GB) which was pulled up, was considered.
Paul Nicholls explanation that the gelding was unsuited by the Going described as Good to Soft and would prefer a slower surface and agreed with the jockey report, that Southfield Harvest (GB) was hanging left-handed and would prefer to run on a left-handed track, was noted.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Southfield Harvest (GB), failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Following the race Harry Cobden reported that Southfield Harvest (GB), which was pulled up, hung left- handed.
