Jumping the third fence, the winner, Blaze A Trail (IRE) jumped right, balking Kilchreest Moon (IRE), placed fifth, which in turn caused LIVING’S BOY AN CO (FR), placed third, to jump into the back of Kilchreest Moon (IRE), and bumping Zuckerberg (GER), placed fourth, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
The winner, Blaze A Trail (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Stratford on 10 July 2022, where the gelding finished sixth of nine runners, beaten by 23 lengths.
John Flint’s explanation that Blaze A Trail (IRE) had appreciated being more prominently ridden and had settled better with the application of a hood, was noted; the gelding was routine tested.
The performance of Chapati (FR), which was pulled up, was considered.
It was noted that Jake Coulson, could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance other than Max Kendrick’s report that Chapati (FR) was never travelling.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
The performance of Kilchreest Moon (IRE), which finished fifth of seven runners, was considered.
It was noted that Henry Oliver, could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance.
