He was very disappointing in the Dan Moore (eighth at Fairyhouse on his penultimate start). I thought I’d got it wrong and he wasn’t good enough, but I’d say he hit a flat spot on the day,. Today was a bit lower class, but he did it well. He was in great form coming here and I was hoping he’d run a good race. He’s been very consistent, and we’re delighted to get a good pot. He was due to run in this race last year, but he scoped wrong a couple of days beforehand. He’s still improving and that was a career best over fences.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined La Malmason, trained by Gavin Cromwell, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal
The Raceday Stewards reviewed a recording of the start of this race, where it appeared riders moved forward before the white flag had been raised, which resulted in a false start. Having viewed a recording of the start the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted
An extended handicap steeplechase for five years old and upwards that have run at least three times in steeplechases up to and including 5th March 2024
